Go Borrow Vessels

2 Kings 4v1-7

In preparation for the new year, concrete plans have to be drawn up long before it starts. A new dimension to planning for the up coming year is that we need God like never before. In this vein, we have to be ready for a great harvest and compensation for all this years labour and expectations by going to borrow vessels.

The passage tells about a widow of Elisha’s student that was at the point of having nothing to pay back debts left behind by her late husband. Running to the man of God for help, he asked her, what do you have at home? That is, inside of you. She replied as usual that she had nothing just like we do today seeing the things we do not have and blinded to the treasures we have capable of getting us our needs through God. Peter told the lame beggar in Acts 3 that he does’nt have money but Jesus. The man of God instructed her to go borrow as many vessels teaches us to go get everything we need to amplify and double what God has bestowed on us.

Poor people or poverty is just LACK of necessities. Not having the means to make life have a meaning subjecting one to embarrassing situations. Eliminating this lack will ensure a good planning for the new year. Three things happened to turn around the situation for this woman in need. (1) the creative word of God- Elisha’s instruction to go borrow vessels, (2) she had something – a jar of oil, her input and thirdly others input, the borrowed vessels.

Most times we borrow oil. This will finish later on then we go about again requiring more oil. What we need is to borrow a vessel that will sustain oil. Give a man a fish, he will come back but Teach him to fish, he will go get it himself next time. Jesus borrowed vessels (yeah he did). He sat on a boat to preach, he fed the 5000 by borrowing 5 loaves and two fishes!! Hmmnnn. He would ride triumphantly into Jerusalem, he borrowed a donkey, and was glorified. people that lend u get blessed! Whoooo!

God will connect us to the people that will borrow us the necessary vessels to bring about our abundant breakthrough. However, when it is time to return, do not fail to. This simply is visionary borrowing, for what we need later on.

PRAYERS
Pray that God should step in to our situation
Pray to love God and to keep his commandments because we need Gods presence like never before and to be triumphant in the coming year.
