Habba Harmattan

For some days now I have been blaming the weather for my congested nose and extra effort to breathe. Now I can’t sleep or wake up without consciously keeping warm. I am talking about drinking hot tea in the morning alongside ordinary water and ensuring I sleep with as many heavy clothing and a blanket over my head. I even made as part of my new year resolution never to take chilled drinks! haha! The koko is that this years harmattan is extreme mehn. The common thing now is to see peeps with jackets, cardigan, head warmer, mufflers and hose. Then ladies will be justified to wear leggings now.

I read somewhere that its important not to allow exposure to the weather so it is for your good to always dress warm. Also fruits like oranges, carrot, pineapple should be taken everyday if possible. We should ensure to drink water once you feel thirsty to naturally clear the nasal blablabla. I pity for those that soo annoyingly say they don’t like fish, you need it for now oo. Then ladies and mommies please cook ewedu, efor and all the vegetable soups you know for the whole house oo, Ejoor oo. Garlic should be an added spice in stew. For the men that do their thing at the booka, ask for any available vegetable soup oo. We can also give ourselves a spoil treat by relaxing with any yoghurt or orange juice of your choice. Consuming all these will make our body stand kakaraka against all the catarrh, cough, cold and watery eyes that come with the weather.

Well, if harmattan can come and go and you no shake body, then nothing do you when you enter snow for yankee! Hahaha!IMG_20150114_092002

God bless 9jeria
Owkay, I vividly recall what it was like on d first day of October dis year as far as Nigeria is concerned. Many claimed our independence day was not worth celebrating. news in d media and papers were telling tales of oddities and unpleasant events. Topping it all was the declaration by oga Jonah himself, during his address 2d nation, accepting dat dis country is far from realising its potentials and ensuring a satisfied and orderly nation. I can’t start reeling out al d many ills holding dis gr8 nation by the throat. So, d way forward is on d shoulders of me and u my fellow Nigerians! Indeed God will answer our prayers made everyday 4dis nation. So let’s keep d prayers coming in all sincerity of our religious beliefs and one day really soon, God will bless 9ja.

Rewarding Talent

Any music video that showcases high-end-party dance steps and moves without featuring 9jas queen of…..oh! I meant ‘King of dance’, Kaffy Shafau-Ameh, that video is a long thing. U can ask P-Square or MayD and dey’l tel u more about that. Bt my interest however is on how dis beauryful lady and an amazing mom has been able 2 use her talent or area of interest 2 shine and make a name 4haself. What she is 2day is not the gains of goin 2 school 2 acquire a degree in drama or arts, not even dancing! but sheer diligence in horning a passion from her teen days. Right from 2006 when she got herself in2 d Guinness Book of World Records as d holder of the longest time dancing, over the years, she has used dis talent 2 carve a nitch in d profession of dance music. She was a faculty member on the MTN’s Project Fame season 6 and who else but her is most qualified 2 demonstrate the art of dancing 2 d contestants. This is one of the rare cases of peoples whose jobs is their hobby and they are the best in it! The very best of result and reward comes 4m such as well as peace and contentment.

Ever heard dat name before? No? Den you are not a soccer enthusiast. Because if you are and u are a fan of any English Premier league club or u just follow d premiership, you will know about the 24 years old England and Liverpool FC striker that has score a goal and in fact the winning goals in all three opening games of their campaign this season. One of these goals was against the red devils. So what about this guy? Okay this is it! He is a product of the Chelsea FC academy and got a shot at first team action even with the legendary Didier Drogba some two seasons back. But the then coach did not see him good enough to feature in his plans for that season so he went on loan to the club whose players and fans ‘never walk alone’. After a not-too impressive last season, the blues decided to sell him off 2 his present club and there he is now being a celebrated hero, giving his club d best ever start 2 d season. This has earned himself and his manager, Branden Rodgers the award for EPL best player and manager of d month of August. Indeed, a prophet is without honour in his home.

Where are the happy days?

Some two to three years back, the first day of the month is a joyous day full of well wishes and showers of prayers as well as an opportunity 2 express ones bit of tender loving care from me to you. This was done by making calls to family and friends, sending assorted-word-filled SMS’s to almost every phone contact. Posting on our fFB friends walls to wish them a happy new month. 2day dis is very rare! Gbam! Coz das d truth. Myself, I hardly send dis wishes nor do I receive anymore. But d good thing is that bbm and watsapp have come 2d rescue as it seems the happy times can still be felt on dis platforms. So let d love flow with these once-in-a-month happy days. Call that long time/last-called friend and wish him or her a happy new month because this will be a september to remember 4us all!

Cheers to the latest follower on twitter and the newest blogger on wordpress. Well, and so what? Tou my wonder? Its actually a big thing for me because I have always been of the school of thought that I did not want my life to be in sync with as many social media available online. I have given a good amount of my time to facebook but shunned twitter all these years and in fact I stopped Hi5ing. I will recall a time when I signed up to twitter but deleted my account after only a week as I did not catch the flow of how it works. Bt now that I have moved grounds….twitter is cool after all. I should have had my blog ages back but for sheer laziness and well, lack of steady internet, but things seem to be in place, so I’v got all the time, phone and some keeping in touch to do. Without further ado, welcome on board PhilOke and PhilSpeaks
